The world of Aedelor has been shaped by the elements, the gods, giants, and dragons. Their lingering influence can be seen in every ravine, mountain, sea, and more. Since the fall of the calissae, civilizations have carved out their stake to the lands of Aedelor.
A fantastical array of peoples populate the lands of Aedelor. Ancestries differ from each other in a variety of ways, from their physical characteristics to their storied histories, struggles, and triumphs. In the age of Diminished Calissae, each vie to carve out their place in the world.
An eclectic cast of colourful characters comprise the stories that take place in Aedelor. From seemingly innocuous guardsmen to stalwart adventurers; from influential guild leaders to regal kings and empresses: everyone has a role and a story to tell.
The settled lands of Aedelor are home to many with their own unique identities and cultures. With their own traditions, languages, fashion, cuisine, holidays, and histories, each ethnicity of Aedelor helps to weave a rich tapestry of life.
From military to shadow organizations to criminal bands, the factions of Aedelor are many. Coming together under common banners to achieve their goals, whether benevelent or nefarious, factions provide opportunities and community. Some factions are run by the government, and some operate far outside the boundaries of the law.
In an endless pursuit of the approval or even divine support of the gods, the people of Aedelor have formed a variety of faiths. A person’s faith informs how they interact with, show reverence to, and draw inspiration from the gods. The inhabitants of Aedelor will often practice more than one faith but may do so at varying levels of devotion.
A prodigious pantheon of gods play an active role in fabric of Aedelor. Most ancestries in Aedelor owe their very existence to at least one of the gods. The setting of the sun, passage to the afterlife, and even the flow of time is meticulously controlled by their obsessive whims.
Aedelor is full of locales equal parts marvelous and dangerous. Rolling hills and lush forests blend with voracious seas and scourged earth. Among it all, nations find their corners to call home. From humble villages to bustling metropolises, mortals make their mark in the age of Diminished Calissae.
